Nasal Tip Surgery What is it?

Mankind has been searching for the answer to the question "What is beautiful?" since its existence. It is difficult to find a general, valid and definitive answer to this question, because beauty is also shaped by people's perceptions and value judgements. However, beauty can generally be defined as a mixture of shapes and proportions, including attraction, admiration, balance and symmetry. For this reason, many important thinkers, such as Euclid, Leonardo Da Vinci and Leonardo Fibonacci, have devoted their lives to discovering the perfect ratio known as the "Golden Ratio" or "Fi (Φ) Number".

Nasal Tip Surgery How to do it?

Before the nasal tip surgery, the patient's face and nose image are taken. Taking into account the patient's complaints and demands, the intervention is planned with the help of simulations and the possible postoperative image is evaluated.

After the operation is decided, the closed rhinoplasty technique is usually used. The type of anaesthesia is determined according to the size of the procedure; local or general anaesthesia is usually preferred. Although the duration of the intervention varies depending on the planned procedure, it is usually completed within 1-2 hours. In most cases, tampons or splints are not used. After the intervention, the patient is discharged on the same day or the next day, depending on the patient's condition.

Nasal tip surgery is usually not a painful procedure. In recent years, thanks to improvements in operating theatre equipment, the pain felt after surgery has been minimised. However, since the psychological and physiological state of each patient is different, the pain threshold may vary. If pain is felt, it is recommended to rest in a semi-upright position for the first few days and to move without bending as much as possible.

Nasal tip surgery Who is it suitable for?

In young adults and teenagers who have not yet completed their physiological development, the appearance and function of the nose may change with the growth of the face as growth continues. In addition, since rhinoplasty surgeries are usually performed under general anaesthesia, undergoing such an operation at a young age can be a source of great stress for both the child and the family.

It is a common practice to perform rhinoplasty surgeries after 15-16 years of age for girls and after 17-18 years of age for boys, except when deemed necessary by the doctor and in emergencies. These age ranges are accepted to ensure that individuals are more physically and psychologically mature.
