Rhinoplasty What is it?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct the shape of the nose and give it an aesthetic appearance. It also offers a medical solution for people with respiratory problems. Arched, asymmetrical, long nose, differences in nostrils and deformations caused by accidents are corrected with rhinoplasty. In addition, thanks to this procedure, a healthier breathing can be achieved.

Treatment of facial paralysis requires a personalised approach. Treatment may differ depending on the severity and cause of the paralysis and the general health status of the patient. Early diagnosis and intervention can accelerate the recovery process of patients, so medical help should be sought as soon as the symptoms of facial paralysis are noticed.

Rhinoplasty Why is it done?

Rhinoplasty can be performed for aesthetic and health reasons. People who do not like the shape of the nose for aesthetic purposes can determine what kind of nose they want after the procedure. In terms of health, it is applied for those who cannot breathe comfortably and have congenital or traumatic deformities. Rhinoplasty is performed as a procedure that requires expertise after the surgeon evaluates the patient's suitability and the healing process may take time.

Rhinoplasty Who is it Done to?

Rhinoplasty can be performed on people with complete bone development. Individuals who have completed the age of 17 for men and 16-17 for women are suitable for this surgery. Before the operation, it is evaluated whether bone development is complete or not. In addition, anyone who does not have blood clotting problems or bleeding disorders can be a candidate for rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty How is it done?

Rhinoplasty begins after the patient's request and the necessity of the surgery are evaluated. Firstly, the previous state of the nose is photographed and the appearance afterwards is shared with the patient. The operation is performed after the medical history, medications and health status are checked.

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anaesthesia, but local anaesthesia may be preferred for minor interventions. There are two main techniques, open and closed rhinoplasty. Open rhinoplasty is performed with a small incision in the nostrils, while closed rhinoplasty, the incision remains inside and is generally preferred for minor deformities.

Some patients undergo revision rhinoplasty if they do not get the desired result or if problems such as asymmetry occur. In addition, nasal tip surgery (tip plasty) can be applied for deformities at the tip of the nose. This procedure, unlike rhinoplasty, intervenes only on the tip of the nose and can be performed with open or closed technique.
